WordCamp US 2019/2020 Host City Application

2019 may seem far away, but planning for the future of WordCamp US needs to start now! We're looking for a great city with an amazing team to host WordCamp US in 2019 and 2020. The new location will be selected prior to WordCamp US 2018 and lead organizers will be brought in on this next year's planning process to give them some additional experience planning a WordCamp of this scale.

Do you want your city to host WordCamp US? Do you want to be part of the hard working team that makes WordCamp US happen? Fantastic! We can't wait to hear from you.

The application requires quite a bit of information, so before you get started you should gather the following details:

  • The names and contact information for your organizing team.
  • Information about your location, including:
    • Do the venues have hotels within 3 miles that can support 1,500-2,000 attendees? Better yet do they have hotels within walking distance? Average hotel costs for budget, mid-range, and high-end hotels.
    • Average flight costs from the West Coast, East Coast, Midwest, Mexico, and Canada.
  • Venue information. There is space to propose 1 main venue. For additional venues submit a separate application. Each venue requires:
    • costs
    • room capacities
    • dates available
    • additional venue details
    • catering costs
  • Contributor day information, After Party information, Volunteer Party information including:
    • venue
    • wifi information
    • catering

Applicants selected as finalists will be asked to work with WCUS advisors to complete a preliminary budget. Please share any other information you want to add.
